Sithengi 2004 launches Talent Campus and you are invited to apply

The 2004 Sithengi Film and Television Market, 16 – 19 November, a component of the Cape Town World Cinema Festival, 12 – 20 November, sees the first ever Sithengi Talent Campus as part of an extended programme of events at the Market.

The Sithengi Talent Campus is presented in partnership with the Berlin Film Festival and modeled on their highly successful Talent Campus and offers a platform for students as well as aspiring and established filmmakers to meet and exchange views and ideas with these experts on various aspects of the filmmaking process.

So, if you are;
• A film student registered at a tertiary institution,
• An aspiring previously disadvantaged filmmaker, not registered with a tertiary institution,
then Sithengi invites you to apply for the 2004 Sithengi Talent Campus.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 30 AUGUST 2004

To enter, students and aspirants only are to submit;
• a short film of no longer than 30 minutes
• on VHS format for viewing
• letter of motivation explaining why you feel you should participate in the Sithengi Talent Campus
• CV

Applications are open to everyone. Of all applications received, 20 registered film students and 10 aspirants will be selected. Applicants (students and aspirants) chosen will then have to register as students through the online Sithengi registration system.

If you are a registered 2004 Sithengi delegate or member, then closer to the time, once we have the Talent Campus schedule up on our website, you could select the classes in which you would like to participate. Bear in mind that only 30 delegates or members will be selected for the Talent Campus, with preference to members.

Sithengi will pay flights and accommodation of those South Africans selected from outside of Cape Town, as well as those from the SADC Region. Accommodation for Capetonians will not be paid for.

The sessions will accommodate 60 participants and will cover a variety of topics from the writing of concepts through pre-to-post-production to marketing & distribution. Classes will be presented by acclaimed local and international masters in the international film & television industry.
