After a highly successful launch in both Cape Town and Johannesburg on 23 and 24 June, respectively, the Cape Town World Cinema Festival, 12 – 20 November and the Sithengi Film & Television Market, 16 – 19 November is back – only this time bigger and better than ever before.

The Sithengi Film and Television Market is a must for anyone with a story, idea, script or film, as well as directors, producers and screenwriters. It is the ultimate networking event for filmmakers, potential filmmakers and storytellers. The Market is the only event of its kind in Africa. It allows you the opportunity, and will facilitate, introductions to industry professionals who could possibly assist you in finding, packaging and selling your dream projects.

The four-day event offers a variety of lectures, seminars, debates and industry events. The core initiatives of the Market are the Product Market, which includes market screenings and a product library; and the Co-production Market, pitching forums in documentary, feature film and a writers’ forum. The Documentary Co-Production Forum (DCF) is a joint initiative between Encounters, the South African International Documentary Festival and Sithengi aimed at improving the documentary co-production opportunities for Southern African filmmakers.

This year Sithengi also offers a Talent Campus in partnership with the Berlin Film Festival (www.berlinale.de), modeled on their highly successful Talent Campus. The Sithengi Talent Campus offers a series of master classes by acclaimed local & international masters in various fields of the production chain of the international film & television industry. Most of the influential in the film industry will be on hand to share their knowledge, experience and provide advice on getting geared for success.
